Haas abroad...

Dear readers, Business School teaches you many useful skills. Right now, my favorite one is 'how to talk your way into first class'. And the club. And get free wine. Which all seems excellent value for my tuition money. The moral - leverage your MBA knowledge outside the school. Impress your friends. Use words like leverage frequently.

Actually, I'm busy doing recruitment drops over a glass of wine. This is the time of year when we all start thinking about the Summer to come. Will we switch careers? Will we go green and embrace hi-tech? Will we be close to our b-school buddies for beers together? Such considerations and more abound.

Except, if I'm honest, my real consideration right now is Brazil. Which is where I go shortly for a Haas course. We're going to visit some of the top companies there, from Natura (a cosmetics company) to the Stock Exchange to Petrobras (the 14th largest oil company on the planet). I'm incredibly excited as I've never been to Brazil. We've been looking at areas like micro-finance and 'The Fortune at the bottom of the pyramid' in preparation so, as well as learning to Samba, I'm interested to see how Brazil and it's people are developing. it should be a pretty amazing trip. And it's my house mate's birthday tomorrow there so we have a strong start planned... Happy Birthday Jenn (MBA 09).

And to the rest of you, best wishes for a happy and healthy 2008.
Adrian Greystoke
